Places to go, Things to do...

Small business owners need to network, no matter what industry. I have compiled a list of places to be involved in and organizations that will be mutually beneficial to your business and the community. The key is to get involved. The more involved you become, the more contacts and respect you will gain.

Rotary International: A great place to meet like-minded individuals in all different industries. Their motto is "service above self," and have club meetings internationally that you can attend at any time.

Kiwanis International: Their mission (stated on their website) is "to serve children of the world."

Toastmasters: Not necessarily a service organization, but a great place to hone your public speaking skills and meet new people. Making professional speakers out of professional people.

Lions Club: Mostly known for helping end preventable blindness. Also an international organization.

Optimist Club: Their mission is "bringing out the best in kids."

Other places to get involved: your local theater/art scene, church, your kids' school, historical societies, any place you have a passion for.
